The world is filled with people who have sinned against God, people like me and you. Through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, we have the hope of forgiveness if we are ready to accept Christ as our savior and source of our hope. There is no greater love than that of Jesus Christ who laid his life for us to have a peaceful and blameless life. This is the perfect love that the Christians are embodied to. In the Christian calendar, Lent is a season that begins from Ash Wednesday up to Easter. It is a 40 days season. This is a period of spiritual preparation. See this site for more. Jesus spent 40 days in the desert preparing for His ministry, so we as Christians, we spend 40 days, preparing for the Easter spiritually through prayers and fasting. We deny ourselves a lot of luxuries and focus on our relationship with God. The denial is a meant to prepare our hearts and souls to experience the power of Christ death, suffering, and his resurrection. The resurrection is the greatest hope for Christian that there is life after death. Lent is a season in the Christian calendar that is humbly and reverently observed. It is high time for the Christian to understand that lent period allows us to have the necessary time to reflect on the purpose of the cross and enrich our relationship with God. The cross means everything to a life of a Christian. This is where all our sins were forgiven, our burden carried away. The period of Lent is a self-denial period that includes, reducing our meals, abstaining, forgiving, repentance and a lot of prayers.
